Prior to starting Select Development, Eric was a partner at ND Consulting Group where he worked to expand the firm’s affordable housing business, developing and consulting on over 3,000 affordable housing units and $300M+ of development.

Select Development is a boutique real estate development firm that specializes in the development and preservation of affordable housing. Its principals have decades of experience in affordable housing and has partnered/ consulted with private and non-profit organizations in all matters related to the development, financing and operations of multi-family real estate. Select Development was founded on decades of diverse real estate experience and is especially proficient in creating financing strategies for development projects unable to fully meet standard lending criteria and in leveraging equity from federal, state and local government subsidy programs, such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits and Tax-Exempt Bonds.

The principals of Select Development have completed commercial, residential and mixed-use projects ranging in size from a few units to more than 280 units, including over 3,000 apartments financed primarily with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Educational backgrounds or certificates cannot match a consistent and long-standing track record of successful funding applications resulting in completed projects, year after year as financing programs and markets change along-side but not always in concert with affordable housing policies and priorities.

Community

We create comprehensive building plans that are ever-mindful of the residents it serves and the community for which it is situated.

Development

Selecting and designing a development site by overseeing and coordinating the project’s architect, engineers and general contractor. Developing and updating financial projections, including comprehensive pre-development, development, construction and operating budgets.

Reposition

Implement actions that will result in successful funding and completion of the project. Securing lenders and equity investors after negotiating with candidates to ensure the project gets the benefit of the best the financial markets have to offer at the time.

Preservation

Preparing owners to operate the development once placed in service
